OB Assistant app for iPhone and iPad

The Assistant App is a single app providing easy access to all relevant BT mobile apps, enabling you to instantly open any of the mobile apps from one place.

The Assistant App also contains a next generation intelligent messaging engine to take the friction out of app to user communications - by only sends highly relevant local notifications to you, based on the relevant mobile apps, the users location and other data.

The Assistant App is provided by OpenBack on behalf of its partner B T. Anyone from any mobile carrier/operator or from any location can use the app.

The Assistant App uses your location as part of sending local and push notifications to you at the right time.

Specifically the app uses significant changes in background location to enable you to receive notifications like these:
* receive notifications when you are near a location with a BT Wifi hotspot
* receive notifications to use the BT VoIP app, Smart Talk, if you are in particular countries

Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

OpenBack doesn’t run GPS in the background unless you give us permission by having on optional features turned on, and even then only runs this from time to time, which is far better for your battery life than running it all the time.
